HI all --

I think was Jim was involved in the 1996 Dearborn convention. This was my
all-time favorite convention that I have been to, including many NMRA
nationals and regionals, and several NASG nationals. I have always
regretted not going to the NASG nationals that I have been forced to miss by
the situation at the time, especially Pittsburg and Lowell. I would
recommend getting to the NASG conventions, if and while you can...

Have fun!

Bill and Andre,
The 1996 Novi, MI site was my first NASG convention after meeting several
great guys from the SMSG club at a local train meet in Ann Arbor. I was really
WOW’ed by what I saw, and scale S in general! Became a member of the SMSG on
the spot and retained that membership ever since. I’ve manage to make it to
most conventions since then, with the exception of the ones on the west coast.
I think my favorite had to be the 1989 Pittsburgh (combined) NASG/NMRA
convention! Don Dewitt and company put together the greatest S modular layout
I have ever seen!
I don’t know if anyone mentioned, but a great site to visit in Chattanooga
is the NMRA headquarters/museum! It’s easy to spend a half a day or more, and
if interested, an enormous library of publications is you wish to do research!
