While we're talking SD60's, I've used one to switch in Stockton yard one
night. UP 6038 was its number, and it happened to be the unit I was running
when my road foreman qualified me to mark up on my own on the extra board.
Quite the kicker that old girl was. SD60's could be seen mu'd with GP40-2's
and SD40-2's since Stockton was a hub for several locals and an originating
terminal for several trains. Ed, go ahead and mu the GP35 with the SD60, it
will look fine. And now that I'm thinking about the old days in Stockton,
we used the GP35's till about 94 so they did occupy the roster at the same
time. I was promoted in 1989 and UP 805 was one of my favorite engines to
switch with on the west end. It also was the last ex-WP unit to have a
working Gyra light on the nose that worked.
