I agree Ed, necessity is the mother of invention! We do all kinds of things ro 
our models to get what we want. 

E & F noses have been a hit or miss affair in all gauges since day one. The 
early OMI HO, S and O brass noses were almost hilarious if not for the sad fact 
it was all we had and then had to try and fix them. 

Luckily, this is not the case very often anymore as we have superior plastic 
models that equal or surpass the detail level and running characteristics of 
our brass models. 

I'm not condemning your actions, but saluting you for thinking outside the box. 
Plastic nose on a brass model.... I love it!
