Please note that the date of the 36th National Narrow Gauge Convention is
September 7-10, 2016, the week after Labor Day.
The chatter on this list about "late September" and "October" is worrying about
the wrong date.
This date was chosen because of high hotel availability. The summer people go
home on Labor Day, and the "leaf peepers" do not come until much later. We
spoke with the local hotels and convention center, and this date was
recommended because of that pattern.
That said, it is always wise to reserve rooms at the Narrow Gauge Convention
well in advance -- regardless of location. The one just ended drew 1500
attendees.
