DANIEL:
I'll second Darrell's assessment of the Plastruct brick sheets. They work
just fine for S. The sheets are durable but thin. When I used them I backed
them up with some styrene sheet stock and joined the two with MEK. Worked fine
though I can't speak for gluing them to any other material. Just FYI, I
mortored the Plastruct bricks with simple drywall compound and then sealed them
with a clear dull spray.

Daniel,
To my knowledge there are two sources of "S scale" bricks, and possibly more
that I don't know of.
The first, and easiest to use in the context of a styrene-built structure is
the Plastruct part #91605, erroneously marked as "HO" scale. This actually
measures out to 8.8" per brick (1 3/8" for 10 bricks) wide by 3.2" per brick
(just under 1/2" for 10 bricks) high. This is definitely too big for HO, and in
my use is just fine for S, although it is admittedly about 10% over scale. This
is ABS, NOT polystyrene, so you have to use a glue that will adhere ABS to your
structure base. I think Plastruct cement will work, although I haven't actually
used it in decades.
