Way back at the NASG Convention in Milwaukee, Lionel reps were showing off the
castings for the then new Mikado. As we talked, they expressed an interest in
scaling down their O Scale freight cars to S and making them "scale friendly"
by having Kadee pads, better trucks and alternate wheelsets.
Unfortunately, that was several management changes ago and those folks are no
longer there.
However, IF Lionel were to make S scale copies of their O Scale freight
cars,(particularly cars that no one else is making) I would gladly buy them,
even if they didn't come with mounting pads or scale wheels.
I think I know how to change out trucks and cut styrene for mounting pads,
drill and tap...
