I am on a roll.

The thought of Lionel making S SCALE trains was a bit foreign to me before
Jonathon's post yesterday. I knew about the U Boat coming but that was about
it. We inquired about scale wheels at the debut of the Lionel S 2-8-2 but
that was never intended to happen. With all due respect to Don T, no one
here is hoping for SHS resurrection more than me. SHS is the home town team
we all want to win on a daily basis. Des Plaines and A M are much needed as
well.

But Don can't "make it all". I have seen some of what Lionel has done with
some O cars. A friend's biggest complaint is the lack of a scale coupler
mounting pad. I can't claim scale fidelity to the intended car because I did
not measure it. But it was every bit as nice as a SHS car sans the big
wheels and couplers. For this purpose and my friends satisfaction it walked
and squawked like a duck.

Wrap your mind around the thought that Lionel could have more S SCALE trains
coming if there is support. We could have our own version of "The Big Four".
If you don't embrace the thought you could be grinding on whose turn it is
to carry the S coffin.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
