I guess I was given the wrong story way back. Thanks

The Armstrongs have been over here too long to remember. (1600's)
At least they did not totaly give up on scotch for moonshine whiskey although
some were involved in the Whiskey Rebellion

Those bridges are amazing.

Subject: {S-Scale List} The First Tay Bridge

  John
The rail first bridge over the river Tay by Dundee, collapsed on 28
Dec 1879, causing the death of 75 people. I assume you crossed over
the second bridge which opened on 13 Jul 1887?

The rail bridge over the river Forth was opened on the 4 Mar 1890.

At both points, the rivers are called 'firths', which is a Scottish term

A search of Google will give more info. The S gauge content - I've yet
to see a model of any of these bridges in S, (scale, hi-rail or AF!)

  Regards

  John the Sasenach
