Darrell:

One Des Moines River 18 x 36 is JPEG, 250ppi, 3.71 MB

I have a stitched scene that is 90 x 18 JPEG, 250ppi, 7.12MB (I haven't tried
to have this one printed, yet.

The Mississippi River mural is a TIF image, 195MB. I don't know the ppi on that
one, but it's at least 250, if not higher.

The major problem isn't the length of the picture, but getting it mounted. Many
framing shops can't handle something that long. I asked on this list about
mounting the photos on Masonite (pegboard), but the general consensus was that
it's not a good idea, so I stuck with Foamcore. I would like to mount them on
something a little more flexible, for curved backdrops, and I'm open to ideas.

Incidentally, the photos at East and West Bonaparte are mirror images of the
same Des Moines River location
