Rance, The two books are entirely different other than they both relate to the BC&G and the ERC&L's logging operation. "Modeling the BC&G" is a book for modelers of all scales. It describes in words and photos how I went about capturing the character of the BC&G on my layout. The book is about my current 44' x 25' layout with appropriate supporting prototype photos. Included are chapters on my philosophy, building structures, arranging the 'towns', operations and photography. The "BC&G In Color" by Bob Withers and myself (published by Morning Sun books) is strictly a book on the prototype. There is no modeling content per se in it. He contains the best 200 color photos of the BC&G that we could find. If you're familiar with Morning Suns other books, this one is the exact same format...large color images with extensive captions and little other text. Information on both books is available at www.buffalocreekandgauley.com. It's just coincidence that they came out at the same time.
