When we decided to invest in a web site for the "Houston S Gaugers", and wanted to register our domain name, we spent some electrons discussing the merits of changing the name to eliminate or replace the "Gaugers" part. In the end we decided to keep it the same, because the reality is that a number of our members are still involved with A.F.
Our "public face" is entirely "scale", though. Privately we have, I believe, four home layouts that are "scale", and another one that's "hi-rail" but is made to look like a scale layout. Since our last show we have added three new members. Two have A.F. layouts, and a third is currently in HO-scale, but is wanting to "upgrade". Several members have A.F. equipment but no layouts. Heck, we even have one member who switched from S to On30, but likes us so much that he decided to remain an active member of the club! (reason for scale change was that he wanted to model narrow gauge, but the cost of Sn3 is so much higher than On30 Bachmann stuff) - Peter.
