Dennis, I don't think any economic considerations are relevant here.
American Models will sell to anybody with a valid credit card #, with
your choice of wheels. I'm proud of my AF heritage. If our
organization is to be an umbrella including all, we have to realize that
we model in 1/64, 3/16 or S scale, regardless of the gauge! Hi-rail, S
standard or narrow is all of this--nobody is left out because of some
old antique name. Heck it's possible that Al Kalmbach and Walther's
decided on the word 'gauge' after a bit of Jack Daniels anyhow!
