    Hi Ed, I don't think they say it must be done, I think they say it's 
usually  better to do it that way. With PC board throw bars to insulate the 
points there's really no more work involved isolating frogs than there is in 
not isolating them so anyone building a new layout should consider it. If 
anyone already has a complete layout with solid metal throw bar  electrically 
connected points they are probably not interested in the discussion anyway as 
they are already aware of the options?....DaveBranum
