Hey Michael, I'm newer to S too, coming from 2 rail Oscale.
My theme is similiar only I model the western slope of Colorado, above Glenwood
Springs, north to Craig (Caribou)
and my rails are in the dirt, as any shortline should be.
I too love the Milwaukee and the Rock!
Good luck with your project!
Welcome to S scale, this is a terrific group of people!

Subject: {S-Scale List} New to Group and to S Scale

Hey guy's! I am new to the group and also new to S Scale. I am making the
change from HO to S. I am a prototype modeler and model the late 70's to early
80's. I plan on doing the same in S. For now I don't have a great deal of room,
however I do plan on building a industrial park type of layout that is
freelanced, but based on Milwaukee Road practices (so no ballast or ties, LOL).
I enjoy agricultural railroad structures, i.e. grain elevators, co-ops, etc. So
that along with some warehouses will be the base of my revenue.

My first S Scale project is going to be converting an American Models ACF 50'
boxcar in Rock Island paint, into a FMC/SIECO 50' boxcar in Green Bay and
Western. I will post pictures of this as I go along. I also plan on handlaying
my track as well as scratch building most of the structures on the layout. I
hope to be an active member of this group and look forward to helping move S
Scale forward.
