Include an American bank which got involved in the China "event" and bled the
company with bonus's and other "shenanigans" to add to the management problems.

I would guess you are reworking the RI car because that is what you had; in
an ideal world you could have as easily found an undecorated one from
which to work, but both in S scale and as prisoners of capricious Chinese
capitalists (is that redundant?), everything we need/want is not readily
  available.

I imagine you know that there are GB&W 50' boxcars (complete with Packers
lettering) made by PRS out there; I believe they were a project of the
Badgerland group. Since that was before I got into S scale, I can only infer
that a group of S scalers in Wisconsin ponied up the funds to commission
a number of PRS kits painted for local roads which they then resold.

While Ostertag is not a rare name, it is uncommon; by any chance are you
related to my long-time congressman in New York State (going back over
forty years, long before the current partisan nastiness)?

  > Hey guy's! I am new to the group and also new to S Scale. I am making the
change from HO to S. I am a prototype modeler and model the late 70's to early
80's. I plan on doing the same in S. For now I don't have a great deal of room,
however I do plan on building a industrial park type of layout that is
freelanced, but based on Milwaukee Road practices (so no ballast or ties, LOL).
I enjoy agricultural railroad structures, i.e. grain elevators, co-ops, etc. So
that along with some warehouses will be the base of my revenue.

50' boxcar in Rock Island paint, into a FMC/SIECO 50' boxcar in Green Bay and
Western. I will post pictures of this as I go along. I also plan on handlaying
my track as well as scratch building most of the structures on the layout. I
hope to be an active member of this group and look forward to helping move S
Scale forward.
