Butch,

I have about 50 of the PRS cars one the layout.  About 35 use the 
supplied trucks, while about 15 have SHS trucks substituted.
I normally use the PRS trucks that came with the kits, except for the 
latter version that were supplied with the reefers--the 15!  I have 
substituted SHS trucks on those reefers.  I think it's all a matter of 
how much, if any weight is added when you build the cars.  A heavier car 
can use the American Models trucks.  However if you don't add much 
weight, I would recommend the SHS trucks.

At one time PRS supplied the Ace roller bearing trucks with his grain 
hopper--they do fine too.
