Lee,

It seems as I get older, I like the earlier and earlier eras. I finally
realized that what I really like is wooden rolling stock. At the present
time, I can tolerate steel hoppers and tank cars, and some steel
underframes, but most cars should be of wooden construction. Of course,
being mostly a narrow gauge modeler, it is easier to justify wooden cars at
a later date. At present time, it looks like I won't go past the 1920's,
which happens to be the decade my parents were born. So 1953 is modern for
me also, but I would be modern for you. This also means that I should back
date or get rid of some of my standard gauge rolling stock or at least
relegate it to the display cabinet.

One thing about modeling your earlier eras, you don't need to model all that
air brake rigging and safety appliances. I also remember seeing your link
and pins couplers on your Sn2 models at Hickory this year.

When you also S-model 1860, 1885, and 1908, as I do, then 1953 IS the modern
era!
