Ewerthon--where do we find more guys your age with your enthusiasm?

Hello folks, this is a simultaneous post in s scale list and SSTOT. I´ve observed the talks about how few models are avaiable. I indeed agree. Wondering about some ways for this wounderful scale to growth I began to think in some ways to overcome the issue. If most of us cannot agree in specifically models, we can use 3d printers like www.shapeways.com This is not the only one, there others providers that have very high resolutions. Jim King use 3d printer, also know as rapid prototyping in smokemountainmodels. I´m a 24 old guy and professional and certified Solidworks (a very good 3d cad program) and I really want to draft S scale models for S scale community. The main diference that I believe to have, is that I´m not looking for money. I already have my own construction company in South America where I currentely live. My interest is to have more model options in s scale, if I can make a list is PRR congressional, NYC Empire State Express, correctly modelled, but also Budd RDC and Pioneer III, Dash-9, Big Boy, UP 4-12-2, and also Up double diesels and turbines. Beign standart gauge is enough to get me interested in model, my only issue is that I can´t model from photos and undetailed diagrams like the ones I found on net. This only generate ugly and incorrect shells that can be used in Trainz or Microsoft Train Simulator. By the way, the s scale guys could look at this folks that make free add-ons for simulators as an example. They were one of the reasons for the growth of this trend, they turn virtual railroading atractive, most due to variety. If we can start to think in some "open source" mind/union of modellers (in effort, one provide plans, other draft, other tell is something isn´t accurate), and add quality, then we have some real hope of chance the actual situation. Sorry if my english is not good at all, it´s not my native language. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
