Hi Roy,

Thanks for sharing. That's fantastic! I have "built" five foam mock-ups 
now, plus a handful of backdrop stand-ins. I have about three of four 
more structures to build, and then I was going to go back and add some 
fake windows, doors, etc. just to add to the effect. Your idea of using 
brick paper would really add an extra touch to them.

This is the first time I'm using this method. I've already learned that 
a two-story foreground factory caused it to act as a view-block to a 
good part of my layout, so I just chopped off the first floor and now I 
can see what I want to see. I also was going to make one spur lead to 
another factory, but it would prevent me from switching cars in the back 
of the layout, so that spur is now going to be a team track.

I'm really enjoying this 3D planning.
