Like Pieter, I had hoped this thread had passed into history some time ago; but
it has resurfaced and I wanted to address a misconception
NASG, Inc., was organized as a 501(c)7 "Fraternal/Educational" non-profit
organization. As such, donations to NASG are NOT tax deductable on individual
income tax returns. That comes straight from the CPA who prepares and manages
the corporate taxes for NASG, Inc. A similar statement was posted on the NASG
Members yahoo site, which the Board is working to re-invigorate.
My apologies for potentially prolonging this subject, I wanted to make sure the
facts were clear.

Post Script on a different subject closer to my heart
I have been a big
user of CDS dry transfers for over 20 years and have applied them to literally
hundreds of cars. I've never had a failure with the "newer" sets - those
enclosed completely in a plastic sleeve. The "older" sets, in plastic but
stapled to a folded card, can sometimes be a problem. I have had a few (less
than 2%) that refused to "transfer" at all. If you own a brass Milwaukee Road
40' or 50' horizontal rib-side box car and you didn't apply the lettering
yourself, I probably did! I really enjoy using CDS Dry Transfers and can still
generally get whatever I need from Jeff Wilson at Hoquat Hobbies.
Now, just "plain old" Jim K.
