Ed,

First off, like I mentioned Bill and perhaps, Jim were talking about the 
River Raisin E unit.  I was speaking about the original Overland series 
of E units.  So if the OMI engines are making noise,their is a 
replacement gear.

Which one it is, is a question since I made that replacement probably 
8-10 years ago.  However, I think is was one of several middle idler 
gears.  Seems it was really easy to detect.  I think the replacements I 
still have were a milky white color, but I can't remember what the 
original was made of.
