Thanks, Tom! I didn't know the magazine was available in hobby shops. Even
more exposure for S then. I wonder if my friends Ed and Gail Fisher are
still in Mishawaka?

Roger,

I saw that issue at the hobby shiop in Mishawaka, Indiana, near South Bend.
Your layout is a modeler's dream. Great work.

Bob is right. Though I have not yet converted anyone to S that I know of,
an article on my S scale Monon Route layout was published in the Monon
Railroad Historical – Technical Society’s magazine “The Hoosier Line” this
Summer, and generated a lot of interest from modelers. It made the cover
and their first color centerfold. At least they know now that there is
scale modeling in S!

I think Dave has brought up a great way to help out our scale. Not many
of us will get a full feature in RMC or MR. Many of us will not be
published with a great construction article like Brooks did in the NMRA
magazine, but we can push our minority scale in the various historical
and railroad specific modeling groups. Just like the below mentioned RI
car, other like minded modelers will check out the car and just maybe
they'll say--"hey, not bad, I didn't know S had that XXXX! I'm not
happy modeling in O--never enough room---maybe I should switch to S"
Snagged another fish!

And BTW Bob, nice job, but when did you start farming out your
painting? I thought you were forming brushes with little bits of
unraveling string! Just kidding.
