I might not be awake at the end of the year but I am sure it will be 2012 when
I wake up. Things like that happen without my assistance or supervision. The
year ended on a good note, made lots of progress on the layout and worked with
Steve on his Chicago yard. There are a couple other layouts being built in the
PPSSW and many good projects.
Marilyn's sister and family are visiting for a couple days so I am taking an
operational pause. I would like to run a day's turn to Centralsota to greet
the new year, don't know if I will get the chance but nice to know it is ready
to go.
Next week, I need to get the Twin Cities Division NMRA January Clinic finished
up and then I have some turnouts to build for me, Jeff and Steve. I am
building a number 6 turnout for Jeff in Code 100 with closed frogs. I think
closed frog means a wide flange wheel will go through it. Anyway, the idea is
that he can have smaller rail in his yard and sidings, when it is painted and
weathered, it will enhance the look of his yard scene. We have some pretty
good modelers building layouts in the area who still have the larger flange
wheels. It is where they started and maybe the last hold out feature of their
"younger days of modeling". don't bother complaining, they don't care and
neither do I.
I hope you all have a safe evening and great 2012. Sure would like to see
folks come visit the Heartland. By the way Bob, I enjoyed the little vignette
of your layout and will share mine. I have a longer write up done but don't
think think it should be posted. I guess a file would be OK if there is any
interest in that sort of thing.

Regards,

Ken
