I got to figure out how to order...I need some slag rock and all kinds of the
good stuff he offers...
WS just doesn't have the "jagged stuff" necessary.
Thanks Peter/Bill!

Hi all --

AZ rock and Mineral is just up the road from me, and I made a personal visit
last year to pick up supplies.   A very interesting fellow who lives in a very
different kind of building that he made himself.   He had about 100 different
kinds of rock colors, sizes and other scenery materials on hand.   He has two
younger guys (sons?) helping him out.   Virtually all the different rock comes
from quarries in the nearby area and is crushed and sorted by him and his
helpers.   A pretty dusty place...   Highly unlikely that the business would
ever sell because of the location, materials that are not exclusive to him, and
the time it takes to do all this.   One really has to like playing in the
dirt...

Anyhow, he has an HO railroad that runs all through the packaging / stockpiling
area that is so dirty nothing could ever run.   However, he designed and sold a
number of interesting operating accessories, like an operating coal tipple, and
the layout is full of them.   Worth a visit if you ever get the chance.

Have fun!

John,

As far as I know AR&M is still in business; it is just up for sale.

I can get it locally at our full-service MRR hobby store, and it is regularly
re-stocked.
