Hey, those RI E units a beautiful, too! Seeing those BUDD passenger cars
inspires me to research the order number for the six cars the M&StL purchased
from BUDD. The six were almost identical to the coaches the NYC ordered for
its "New England States". The M&StL received its cars in 1948 for $100,000 a
copy. Dave Engle sold me what can become the basis of an M&StL gas electric.
All I need is the coach to hook behind the GE car, and I'll have an M&StL
passenger train. Maybe I can even uncover a KINSMAN vestibuled baggage car
somewhere, build it, paint it Pullman-green, and letter it for the M&StL. Most
of the M&StL's baggage/express cars were wood with steell underframes and
remained in the standard green paint as long as they operated. Anyway, it's
fun to dream.

Bob, The NYC Budds look terrific! What paint finish is used to get that
stainless steel gleam?
