Hi all:
I have a problem/question about the trucks on the Budd car. I did have
several email exchanges with the manufacturer, but I probably wasn't
communicating correctly and I haven't quite gotten a resolution to the
problem. Here it is:
I have been running some of the Budd cars (hi-rail) and one of the
screws holding one of the trucks came out. I have the screw, so I
reattached the truck using the "shoulder" screw. When I tighten the
screw up, the truck binds and won't turn. I didn't want to only
partially screw the screw in since it would work itself out again. Is
there some type of 'loc-tite' or washer to stop the screw from going
into the body too far so that the truck doesn't bind when I tighten the
screw? There appeared to be some small red stiff like material with a
round loop on one end - did this come off the screw? This red thin
material wasn't any of the electrical wires for lighting. Suggestions
are appreciated. (Of course, I could take one of the other trucks off,
but I don't want to compound the problem:-) .)
thanks
