I receive emails from the Sippin and Slippin Society of North Carolina.
Most of you are probably familiar with this HO modular club. In my mind
they have achieved a level of perfection in their setup and operation of long,
smooth running, and very long trains. And the scenery is usally
outstanding too.

The email activity for the last few weeks has been related to planning of
their modular setup at the National Train Show in Grand Rapids, Michigan,
in late July. It makes sense that they would have to plan early by finding
out how many members plan to attend and how many modules can be expected.
If you have ever seen utube videos of their setup, it is pretty incredible.
Their trains seem to go on forever before getting back to their starting
point.

I wonder if any "S scale" clubs are planning on setting up in Grand
Rapids? I am personally not in a modular club though I hope that changes
soon.
I have to be in Indianapolis on the weekend of the NTS so that rules out
even attending, though I have it in the back of my mind that I might be able
to attend some of the NMRA clinics earlier in the week. The calendar may
make it harder for S scalers to attend the NMRA if they are also attending
the NASG convention the following week.

All that said, after observing all the planning that the S and S Society of
North Carolina is already doing, I thought I would inquire if any S
"scale" clubs are planning to set up at the NTS.

Also, the creation of a new S Scale SIG makes me wonder about its
involvement in the NMRA and NTS.
