Can't speak for the new AF locomotives, but the O scale Atlas switchers that
came with TMCC had the same 12v DC motors as their othermore-conventional
drives, so once one stripped out the electronic crap, it was pretty
straightforward to rewire them. Happily, I found abuyer for all the crap; I
would never have bought any that way, except one was never available without
it, and another came at such a good priceI held my nose and bought it.
