Hi Jim,

Yes, the Bachmann "Sound Value" board is a lower cost alternative to
the Tsunami, and has less features, but it is made for Bachmann by
Soundtraxx. One of the things I miss on my Bachmann HO scale S4 is
the brake squeal upon rapid deceleration, but still it's a great loco
for the price. Also gone is the engine startup sequence, cab chatter
(good riddance as far as I'm concerned), and possibly others.
However, I would think that if you want the 539T sounds installed on
a Tsunami, Soundtraxx should be able to do it for you. You'll have to
get the board from them, though, rather than a discounter at a train
show or on Ebay. That's why I suggested a phone call to them...

I guess now my secret is out, S isn't my only scale, I'm something of
a "rubber-gauger"!

Regards,
Bill in FL
