I was the one that started the "growing pains" topic. Luckily my baseman does not vary much in temperature - maybe 10 degrees. Right in the middle of the basement is a duct vent tied into the main house HVAC zone so that basement gets whatever the house is getting in air movement. There is surprisingly not much of a musty spell - ever - so I guess the humidity is pretty stable.
I think/hope that using the 12 ply birch plywood exclusively for the frames will help out greatly in wood expansion and contraction issues.
