I have a SWM NYC S1-b which I would like to paint. I’ve looked on the web
for prototype photos and the builders photos show what
appears to be a gray color. Other photos show a various shades of gray or
black. Can anyone give me some guidelines regarding
the correct paint for this model? Additionally, are there any known
problems with the model that should be “fixed” before painting?
My test track has a 42” radius curve – will the model take this curve without
shorting or other problems?

P.S. I have a supply of twin-shaft “HOLLAND” motors available for repowering
your diesels if anyone is interested – reply off-line at
