Uncle Edward, I think you got the date right! Some one pulled a great April Fools joke on my wife today. It got me thinking about an announcement similar to yours. I was thinking of a report about MTH entering the S market with a full line trackwork, locos and rolling stock. I received a free issue of some O gauge magazine in the mail yesterday. Not sure why they sent it to me. It was all about 3 rail O and a lot of the stuff in photos was from MTH. Made me glad again that I am in S and not three rail O. The diesels looked almost as funny as the track. And whoever said O was cheaper than S. Some of the prices were pretty wild considering how bad they looked. So I am glad to be in S and that ain't no APRIL FOOLS JOKE> - Earl Henry In a message dated 4/1/2012 11:09:36 A.M. Central Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
Just heard that Lionel has announced a full line of S “scale” track products including #6 and #8 turnouts strictly built to NMRA/NASG specifications with code 100 rail, detailed simulated wood ties, integral switch motor using a worm and worm gear for very slow point movement and a lantern housing with red/green LEDs. The flex track will come in six foot lengths and will exactly match the turnouts in appearance. Turnouts will cost about $18 each and the flex track about $4 per length. The photos look GREAT!! Lionel sure comes through when ya need ‘em. Ed L. 4-1-2012
