If you want 1/2" Homasote board, you may be able to get it from a construction materials supplier in the form of, say, 4" wide strips, sold as isolation joint or expansion joint material for use with placing concrete slabs, sidewalk, etc. Some of it has wood tear strips on one side, which could be used separately. You may be able to avoid sawing until you need to need to cut your own transverse slots to let it "bend" for curves, as previously instructed on this site. DJE-KCMO
