Sorry for getting back so late in the conversation. I had this group on daily
digest, thus not getting any emails right away. I have now switch to individual
emails until this conversation is over.
3m has many different tapes. We have been a test market for them in our area
and there is two on the market at this time I can recommend. The first is green
in color and the other is yellow. The yellow is the preferred tape by my
painters because it has a sticker glue but yet peels off after the bake cycle
easily. It also does not tear as really while masking very tight inside curves.
I on the other hand like the green 233+. It works the best for model work. We
stock 3/4-1/2-1/8 in both tapes so I have the opportunity to use all sizes and
types in model refinishing. The 1/8 green is my recommendation. We have tested
many water tapes that were plastic similar to the blue fine line that most
modelers use. I don't care for any of those in water. I am sure that if you go
to any automotive paint store you can acquire these tapes. If not, contact a
local body shop. If they are spraying water they more than likely will have it
and may give you a partial roll to try. I hope this info can help you. Please
