Dear Mike:
Thank you for the advice. I have Pactra MT108 1/8" x 20' and 3M
Automotive Masking tape PN-03430 which looks like masking tape. I shall go
hunting for the green 233+. (I assume the + indicates a digit denoting width.)
Based on the discussion, I think my problem is thick paint and inadequate
drying time. And despite the urging of some, I do not work with toxic gases
such as solvent-based paint. I inherited my father's airbrush rig. I only
kept the air pump, tank, and humidity trap because everything else reeked of
liver and kidney dissolving fumes.
Thanks to all that recommended time for the acrylic paint to set so the
polymers form bonds. (I had not known that.) And also thanks to those who
suggested nylons to strain paint. Its not the cost of replacing that I hate --
it is the waste.
