The answer is quite simple, Ben... it is because some of us prefer the Kadee couplers and/or Kadee gear box over the SHS. The main reason I prefer the Kadee coupler is because the Kadee draft gear box will accept Sergent couplers whereas the SHS draft gear box will not.
But even this will be irrelevant once I get my new draft gear boxes into production.
