I too found it a bit of a shock. On the plus side, MTH clearly have deeper pockets. Many have expressed the thought that it would be good if they were interested in S. Didn't someone recently comment that the MTH rep at a show was more positive when asked about S than previously?
As a side note,it appears that the hopper in the MTH box is the Beth steel car that Sanda Kan ate when they decided not to complete their contracts with S Helper. A sign that "new stuff" is coming, not just re-issue of current products? The down side is that the on-going Showcase Line will be one more line a a group of products in various scales, rather than the only product line in a company that believes in S scale. We shall need to see how everything turns out. "Cautiously optimistic" seems like a good position to take. Best of luck, Don and Mike (and MTH)! Pieter E.
