I hope all of you saw the article in the most recent issue of DISPATCH about Jerry Holmes' scale layout. This layout will be on the tour at the NASG Convention in Chattanooga. One of the most interesting things is how Jerry runs a loop of track through the walls to the garage. The tracks are high enough in the garage that they do not interfere with parking cars. It was a great way to use existing space to create more space for the layout. For those of us going to the convention, this is a layout you will not want to miss. - Earl Henry, Nashville In a message dated 5/27/2012 10:30:51 A.M. All serious S guys have solved the lack of space problem by poking holes in the walls (aka tunnels) and expanding into other areas. Roger Nulton (garage) and Ed Loizeaux (family room) have done this. Dick Karnes tore down his layout and negotiated more space elsewhere (basement) and rebuilt. Mr. Lane, Jr. added on to his house so the shop equipment could be moved in order to have a larger layout. I am sorry, but "lack of space" no longer qualifies as a legitimate excuse for not buying something you really want. Let's get on with the program...... "S"miles...Ed L. www.sscale.org
