I didn't have a chance to check after you asked until just this morning.
Following up on Bill Lane's reply, both the Ace sprung and their
equalizedBettendorfs have sockets for the intended (but never produced) brake
beams; their roller-bearings do not. Similar Rex equalized trucks havecast-on
brake shoes on the sideframes, so do not. Pacific Rail Shops used several
different sources for their trucks (so far as I can tell, theirvery first kits
for the ACF covered hoppers included no trucks, and at the end they were using
SHS roller bearing ones), some of which hadbrake beams, some not. I am not
sure whether DPH has standardized on any since they took over the line,
although I think they use theequalized roller bearings and ASF's (my USRA
composite gondolas are packed away, but I think they may have SHS Andrews).
