In the years I was making architectural models my wife (quite an artist) made
all of the trees for the models. Many went into the models which appeared in
my Austin Co FORTUNE Magaziner ad models.
Many people liked the trees more than the model. Other architects wanted "me"
to make trees, which I would not do.
Anyway I chased trains (no diseasels). As my wifes main artistic interest was
horses and all I had to do was go along with all of that so nothing was ever
wrong about trains. Still going on.
By the way look up "Mary Ogden Armstrong" on the internet to see what I refer
to as to her capabilities. She is in Who's Who as well.
I never had a question about any brass locos either, as long as 1 or 2 extra
models were bring in extra money each year.

It's always a great asset to have a supportive wife. When I was NASG
President, folks would refer to my wife Peg as my "First Lady". She didn't
quite know how to make of it, but always accompanied me to conventions and
showed grace and charm to everyone we came in contact with. In short she was a
terrific "First Lady".
We husbands all owe a deep debt of gratitude to our better halves for
supporting their train nut spouses. This is either a late Mother's Day message
for 2012 or and early one for 2013: take your pick.

tolerant or even active in S Scale to a small degree that is a great & rare
thing. Consider yourself to be very lucky. In spite of being an S Scaler for
24 years now and about to be married for 10 years Donna has LOTS of things to
say about my train involvement. "Go have a good time" has **never** once been
one of them.
