Hi Bob, Great to see that you are feeling up to spending time with the group.
I've been thinking about the Shabbona a lot as I design my new layout, I
hope to accomplish something similar to what you've done and continue to do.
I look at the article problem from the viewpoint that magazines and even
web based publications are not really necessary any more now that we can join
groups of people with similar interests and post questions and get timely
answers custom tailored to our needs. Waiting for a magazine to hit on
something I'm wanting to read is pretty inefficient in my mind. It makes a lot
more sense to me for folks to just interact directly and eliminate the editors.
I do buy the yearly great model railroads and Model railroad planning each
year just to keep as way points along the route of the development of the hobby
but I rarely see anything in any of the monthly magazines that I'd want to keep
in paper form. As online archives get better it's usually easier to find the
latest thinking on a subject instead of wading thru old pages for out of date
