Back on my old layout, probably in the 1990's, I built several buildings
from the two stall brick enginehouse kit plus a similar kit, which had
different ends. Note these were for Sn3, so the clearances worked. I built
a car shop using two of the engine house kits spliced the long way. I built
an enginehouse (for Sn3), essentially one and a half kits long. I raised
that one up with a higher foundation and fudged the doors by gluing them in
the open position onto the front wall. This gave me adequate clearance for
normal Sn3 locos (my K-37 was too wide to fit in it, but they started life
as standard gauge 2-8-0's). I also built the similar kit into an industry
and used the left over pieces from the kitbashes to build a small machine
shop building. Any man doors were replaced with Grandt Line S scale doors.
I also used one of their O scale oil depots for an S scale one on that
layout.
We have much more available now in S scale structures than at that time.

It would be interesting to see what Cornerstone Structures others have used
in S.
