QSI is promising vastly-upgraded stereo sound files for the Titan, but my understanding is that if you purchase a Titan right now, you will probably still get the old sound files. The QSI decoders are more flexible, and therefore programming them can be quite complex, and I believe that to take advantage of future upgrades in their sound files, you must purchase their programmer, which I think costs about $100. The QSI decoders have a somewhat higher current rating, which is good for S scale, but I have not had any overheating problems with the Tsunami decoders that I have. In summary, I would say that there is no perfect sound decoder out there right now. They are all a compromise. Hope this helps.
