Personally, I would look to both the Lionel and MTH O gauge catalogs for any hint's as to what either might offer in S.
The only E7 Lionel offered(so far) was the Texas Special version with the corregated side panels, but with an E6 pilot! Both have offered E6's, however. Only Don can say how far along the E7 project was, as it was cataloged in '04. My guess is not very far. Early drawings, perhaps? I'd wager MTH would rather go with what they already have full data files on.
