Hi Bill,

I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit. Yes, every so often I squeeze out a few minutes here and there to do some work on my layout. The siding was one of those special moments where I just grabbed some scenery materials I have laying around, and some glue, and went to town. I'm happy with the result. Thank you for your compliment!

I've got two walls of the passenger station glued together, so still making progress on that. The reason for doing that was to see if I still had enough clearance after I've built it. I think it will work, but it is going to be very close. I now need to start on the bay window front wall. (any passengers buying a ticket while a train passes by, will likely be struck!!)

When I was digging through my cabinets under the layout for scenery materials, I came across a project I started 4 years ago during hurricane Ike when we had no electricity for several days (and it was 100 degrees). It was my actual first S-scale experience with anything. It was meant to be a track-gang shed. However, I don't have space for something like that on my current layout. So, I decided to rip the track out and make it into a simple, nondescript shed. You see the state the structure was in when I "found" it the other day in the last photo of this page:

I'll be updating that page when I complete the work on that structure. I am thinking about putting it near that recently-scenicked spur.

Good luck to both you and Jamie with the 2013 Convention. That's got to be a boat-load of work.
 - Peter.

Hi Peter --
I just took some time to review your layout site again. I hadn’t realized how long it had been and I was pleasantly surprised by the progress and your various articles. I really liked the siding treatment! I need to get you over here to do that really nice stuff on the SLE&P!!
Have fun!
Bill W.
