and watching the videos is a good idea for anyone interested in hand building
switches as it gives a good explanation of how all the parts go together. The
unique aspect of fast tracks switches is that they are soldered to a few pc
board ties to hold the rails in place instead of being spiked to wooden ties.
Their wooden ties are just dummies to fill in the spaces between the pc board
ties. Once the method is understood it becomes obvious that switches of any
frog number or radius can be constructed without additional jigs if need be by
just gluing the pc board ties down to the roadbed and soldering the rails in
place using nasg track gauge instead of a jig. If one likes soldering better
than spiking it's possible to build all your switches this way without buying
