Peter, Everything is looking great. Some where I have a photo of a saw
sharpening business that looked like your converted structure. Got a little
chuckle out of the mountain, around here it's just a hill.

Hi All,

Earlier this week I sent a message that went to the entire group that
should have only gone to Bill Winans (oh, well, who hasn't done that, right?).
So, to follow up on that e-mail, this week I've taken a detour from my
passenger station construction, by working on a small structure I started
almost 4 years ago.

I started scratchbuilding this small structure that was supposed to be a
section house modeled after the PRR's standard drawings for such a building.
The building was started while I didn't have anything S-scale (no engines,
cars, anything). I then made some good progress on it while Hurricane Ike
hit Houston in September 2008, when we didn't have power for several days
(and 100+ degree temperatures). There wasn't anything else to do, literally.
Well, I've decided to re-purpose the structure. It is now going to be a
simple shop ("iron works"). I completed the basic building this week. Tonight
or tomorrow I am going to work on integrating it into the scenery of the
layout, as well as work on some external details of the building. You can
see the progress so far at the bottom of this page:

I also did some work on the passenger station. I came up with the idea of
making a sign like you see in the real world announcing the future
construction of some building on a site. You can see that on this page (there
is
also one additional progress photo on the wall construction page of that
article):

Finally, I added an overall-view photo of the recently scenicked spur,
just in case you're interested:

Have a great weekend,
