Congratulations, Trevor! I got a good laugh out of your recent blog post
about the derailments and other issues you had. I thought your layout
was perfect? (ha, ha, poke, poke):-)
I just celebrated my fourth year in S. It's been a great journey so far.
For "FNF", my report this week has been just some improvements on the
layout infrastructure. I was using clear ceiling panels as the diffuser
panels in my light fixtures. These were the "crackled ice" variety. I
had noticed lately that my layout photos weren't coming out right. Last
weekend it dawned on me that the clear panels had turned yellow,
presumably due to the UV rays of the fluorescents. I bought some new
panels last weekend and cut them and installed them this week. Wow! The
layout is nice and bright again. I guess I have to remember to replace
those every couple of years.
I also cut some 1/4" plywood strips to function as drawer dividers for
some of the drawers in my under-the-layout cabinets. This will help me
organize and find stuff much faster. Last night I was having fun
planting some weed grasses along the edge of the creek. This is a great
hobby!
Have a good weekend,
- Peter.

Hi everybody:
Thanks to the many fine people on this list, I'm really enjoying my first year
in S scale. It's been almost a year now since I switched to 1:64 - my first
blog posting about Port Rowan was on August 29th.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the members of the S Scale Workshop, who
welcomed me in and have helped me get my head around suppliers, resources and
other goodies that make S fun.
I've just taken a couple of photos on my layout, and posted them to the
Workshop's blog. You'll find them here...

Cheers!
