I've got about a third of a foot in the Milwaukee camp. I purchased two of
Chuck's Milwaukee Alco RS-3s at the Duluth convention. I've also been held
back because I was focusing on layout building and have been afraid of real
kitbashing and painting. Now the railroad is in the process of being scrapped
because we are moving and I've taken a tentative step into kitbashing with my
(stalled) attempt to convert a Lionel autorack to S.

I changed course when SSA came out with the coal porters and have taken on more
of a modern-to-contemporary interest along with a little squinting to make it
seem more so. Now Lionel comes out with both a u-boat in Milwaukee and a
modern SD in BNSF. What's a guy supposed to do? Take out a payday loan?

I had a plan that I could run a dual era layout. Or I could imagine that
Milwaukee never bit the dust. It goes with the squinting thing.
