I picked up the white Plexiglas for the new sidewalk in the station area on
Friday. It has been on my mind for many months now. Today was as good of a
day as any to rough it in. I had to do some minor trimming in 3 areas to
make it fit. They are just flopped in place for now. I am working towards
getting 4 feet of the Walthers Milwaukee train shed and some of the Walthers
umbrella sheds installed. I have the train shed kits but still have to get
the umbrella shed kits.

On the plus side the Plexiglas is long strips - just what I wanted. One
sidewalk in 9 feet long - as 1 piece. The other is 11 feet long made from a
10 foot and 1 foot piece. The 1 things I did not consider is the Plexiglas
is pretty hard plastic. The MicroMark cutter scribe I got to make seam lines
in the Plexiglas is probably not going to do it easily or not at all. I have
to rethink that part a bit. Cutting it to fit was the easiest part with my
DeWalt 18v variable speed Saber saw. Most of the heavy lifting has yet to
come in nicely scribing seam lines to represent concrete
sidewalks/platforms, and then paint everything a concrete color.

Still it was a good progress day. hopefully on Sunday I am swapping out 3
turnouts that have been a problem since the day they were installed.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
